Narrative Video
This project is a 3 minute narrative video project that tells a story about a college student that has an anxiety disorder. It was made for my digital media production class, Comm Arts 155. The goal was to create a 3-5 minute narrative video that told the story of an anxious college student in a thought provoking manner that makes those with anxiety disorders feel seen and understood. This project took two weeks to start and finish. My group mates, Emma, Anna, and Lauren, and I collaborated to create a beat sheet, audience profile, and storyboards for our narrative project. From there, we went to our shoot on the weekend where I was the director and cinematographer for the project. We got all of our footage in one day and then Lauren and I got to work on editing the footage together to create our final product. From this, I learned about the importance of doing several takes and carefully planning a shoot in advance. This project was highlighted in the Spring 2022 Showcase from the Communication Arts department at UW-Madison after being voted best narrative project of our class.
